Shannon Bream is known for being one of the most popular hosts on Fox News, but what many fans don’t know about her is that she is a woman who has an incredibly strong Christian faith. And it’s Shannon Bream’s commitment to Jesus Christ that gets her through the tough times in life, like her husband’s life-changing brain tumor.
In a new interview with “The Billy Hallowell Podcast,” the popular Fox host opened up about her life and faith like never before, saying that she finds daily comfort in her faith.
“We’re all a work in progress … I’ve been through wonderful highs and terrible lows like we all do in our life,” Bream said. “Through the toughest things is where my faith has become the most personal and has grown the most.”
“It’s a daily comfort and a strength for me to spend time with the Lord,” she added.
Bream is so focused on her faith that she starts every day by reading from the Bible, which helps her stay centered.
“I have to get grounded,” she said, referring to her morning ritual of faith. “I am not equipped to handle it myself.”
Bream grew up always going to church, but it wasn’t until middle school that she really got serious about her faith.
“Have I ever made this personal?” she remembered asking herself at the time. “Have I really committed my life to Christ and accepted him as my savior?”
Shannon Bream accepted her faith at that young age, and she has never wavered from it. Originally working as a lawyer, Bream eventually switched to media, and she has been at Fox since 2007.
“I’ve always been a very curious person … I think we’re all born with different gifts and different passions and different skills,” she said. “We should encourage people whatever their gifts are … to go into that field and be a light.”
The 49-year-old also opened up about other aspects of her personal life in the interview, including the brain tumor her husband battled before their marriage.
She explained that this experience had a profound affect on her, as it “put everything into perspective.”
“Thank God he is wonderful and healed,” she said.
