Vince McMahon ‘Freaking’ Over WWE Picture, Triple H Demoted

Vince McMahon ‘Freaking’ Over WWE Picture

On March 5, a picture was uploaded online by Cain Velasquez. It featured the former UFC Heavyweight Champion at WWE Headquarters with Ronda Rousey. The picture left people speculating that both could be headed back inside a WWE ring.

Apparently, Rousey being at WWE Headquarters was supposed to be a secret. Only a few of the the top WWE officials knew she would be there. Velasquez was unaware and simply uploaded the picture. There is no heat on Velasquez about the picture being tweeted.

Vince McMahon’s Reaction

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon was “freaking out badly” when the picture hit the internet. Considering Velasquez sent the picture out, WWE will not be punishing anyone.

Fans have not seen Rousey in almost a year. She last appeared at WrestleMania 35, where she and Charlotte Flair lost in the main event to Becky Lynch. There is no word on her return and with WrestleMania 36 likely being postponed, we still have no answers.

As for Velasquez, he worked a short program with Brock Lesnar. It culminated at Crown Jewel, with Lesnar getting a submission win in a few minutes. Velasquez entered the match with a bad knee and WWE did not want to risk further damage. He continues to hone his skills at the WWE Performance Center. Like Rousey, his return to TV is not known.

Triple H Demoted

Apparently, Triple H was give a “quiet demotion” from his office jobs within WWE. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how his new title is Executive Vice President of Global Talent Development & Strategy. Also, he is still Senior Producer and has creative roles for the NXT brand. Before the change, Triple H worked as the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events & Creative. He held that position since 2013.

Now, his main duties will be working on NXT, expanding their TV deals and finding new overseas partners. Brad Blum, who is Vince McMahon’s Chief of Staff, took over Triple H’s previous responsibilities.

The change in responsibilities apparently took place about five months ago.

On this week’s bizarre SmackDown, Triple H even joked about the demotion. That episode of SmackDown saw no fans in attendance as the show came from the WWE Performance Center. The change in venue had to do with the coronavirus. Look for WWE to keep using the Performance Center until further notice.
