Tom Hanks’ announcement that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, have tested positive for coronavirus was jarring for a lot of people. Now, Hanks is giving his fans across the world an update direct from quarantine down under!

DailyMail reported that Tom Hanks took to social media Wednesday, shocking the world in revealing that he and his wife had ‘slight fevers’ and ‘felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. ‘To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.’

It’s a reminder that this virus does not discriminate. Hanks has been entertaining us for decades as one of Hollywood’s friendliest actors. His many fans are praying and watching how things turn out for him and Rita. A new update from Hanks is likely to set their minds at ease.

Tom Hanks Following Coronavirus Protocol

Hanks and Wilson are isolated as they recover in Australia. The 63-year-old Academy Award-winning actor was on the Gold Coast to film a movie about Elvis Presley that’s due out in October 2021. Even before his diagnosis he was sharing his special brand of humor with this tweet:

Hanks’ co-star in Disney’s beloved “Toy Story” series took to Twitter to wish his friends well as they battle the fast-spreading virus.

Tim Allen tweeted a picture of Buzz Lightyear and wrote, “I told Tom and Rita that Buzz offered a couple of spacesuits if they need them. Seriously rest up and get well!”

Rita added her own spot of humor during their isolation by tweeting:

Update On Coronavirus Recovery From Tom Hanks

Hanks decided to directly provide an update to his fans through social media. He is being calm in the face of a worldwide panic. Many will find a lot of comfort in his and Rita’s positive approach as they recover from coronavirus.

Rita Wilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us,” Hanks wrote on his Facebook page. “We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx”
