The world was shocked to learn last night that Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus. It doesn’t matter who you are, nobody is immune to the alarming spread of this virus. Now, Tom Hanks’ son Chet took to Instagram with a personal video to update the world on his parents’ condition. The Hanks’ celebrity son, Colin, followed his younger brother’s lead with his own post on Instagram.
The couple of 32 years are in Australia where Hanks is filming a movie. The two obviously have to stay put down under until they get a clean bill of health. Hanks alerted the world to his shocking diagnosis via a personal post on Instagram.
He wrote:
Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.
Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?

Son Chet’s Update On Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson’s Coronavirus
Obviously, fans around the world were reeling from this news. The “Forrest Gump” actor’s diagnosis made this pandemic very real for many. And all of us were left with lots of questions.
Tom Hanks has been viewed as one of the nice guys in Hollywood for decades, and now he’s one of the first Americans to contract coronavirus. His message appeared to be upbeat. But, with the media portraying everything as doom and gloom, people were concerned.
Thankfully, Rita and Tom’s son Chet followed up his dad’s post with an Instagram video of his own. He doesn’t feel there is a reason to be too alarmed about the couple’s condition.
“What up everyone. Yeah, it’s true, my parents got coronavirus. Crazy,” a shirtless Chet says in the video. “They’re both down in Australia right now because my dad was shooting a movie down there but I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine, they’re not even that sick.”
The 29-year-old son said that his parents aren’t “tripping” about their situation but they are following medical protocol and want everyone to be safe.
“I appreciate everyone’s concern and the well wishes but I think it’s all going to be alright but I appreciate it and just, everybody stay safe out there,” Chet Hanks said at the end of the video below. “Much love.”

Colin Hanks Also Updates About Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s Coronavirus Condition
Their son Colin also posted about the situation on Instagram mimicking much of what his younger brother Chet said. He hasn’t seen his parents for three weeks as they have been in Australia, but the couple is expected to fully recover.
It’s so good to hear some positive news about this this celebrity couple who many consider a national treasure. We hope that Tom Hanks and sons continue to update fans on the couple’s progress. I’m sure these two have access to the very best care and are in good hands.
