Rapper Cardi B Blasts Trump’s Coronavirus Response – Declares Outbreak ‘Could’ve Been Prevented’

Rapper Cardi B, a former stripper who announced earlier this year that she wants to run for Congress, just spoke out to blast President Donald Trump for how the US is handling the coronavirus pandemic. Cardi took to Instagram to declare that the US outbreak “could’ve been prevented” despite the fact this pandemic has affected countries all over the world, with virtually no world leader finding a way to completely prevent it.

Cardi B Blasts Coronavirus Confusion

On Wednesday, Cardi B posted a video to her 61 million followers on Instagram. She wore a medical mask and begun her live video by slamming both Trump and celebrities for causing confusion surrounding COVID-19.

“Number 45 is getting on a podium saying, ‘Hey, listen: if you do not have any symptoms of the coronavirus — coughing, fever and whatsoever, etc. etc. — do not get tested because we don’t have enough testings to test everybody,” Cardi said. “But if a celebrity is saying, ‘Hey, listen, I don’t have no symptoms, I’m feeling good, I feel healthy, I don’t feel like nothing but I went and got tested and I’m positive for the coronavirus, that causes confusion.”

The 27 year-old rapper then continued her profanity-filled rant by saying that preventative isolation measures aren’t fair to people who live in small apartments with multiple people. 

“What do they think they’re sending people home to? Not everybody have [sic] the luxury to go in their f***ing bedroom and to go in a big-ass house and get away from people,” she exclaimed. “A lot of people live in small-a** apartments with multiple people. So it’s like if you’re sending me home and I have the corona-f***ing-virus I’m most likely going to give it to my spouse, my kids, anybody that’s around me.”

Cardi B Claims US Outbreak ‘Could’ve Been Prevented’

It comes as no surprise that she’d take this opportunity to lambaste Trump in her rant. Cardi is a longtime critic of the sitting President. She even said living in Nigeria would be better than living in the US under Trump.

In addition to blaming Trump for our situation, Cardi B wants the government to pay for everything. Including any healthcare costs associated with the pandemic.

That shouldn’t surprise you given she’s a loud and proud supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

“I feel like the government should take that shit… and not charge people for it, because at the end of the day this shit could’ve been prevented when they found out about this shit a couple of months ago and the shit it was doing in China,” she said. “Some people don’t even have enough money to f*cking afford health care.”

Finally, Cardi doubled down in her criticism of the US response: “This is y’all’s fault that it got into this motherf*cking country. That could’ve been avoided; this shit.”

Oy vey. It’s terrifying that people actually listen to this woman. And to think she expressed interest in running for Congress.

Celebrities and Coronavirus

Like most celebrities in the entertainment world, Cardi has no idea what she’s talking about. If there was a simple way to prevent coronavirus from afflicting a country, some world leader would have figured it out by now.

There was nothing more that Trump could have done to prevent the virus from invading the US. Our best hope was when he proactively shut down international travel in an effort to contain.

Now, the President continues to do everything in his power to get rid of the contagion as quickly as possible. 

Celebrities like Cardi need to stop trying to use coronavirus to make themselves relevant. This is a time for unity and community, not finger pointing.

Maybe Cardi B should take her self-isolation next level by getting off social media. Because the rest of us don’t need to hear what she has to say right now.
