Charles Oliveira didn’t need a big crowd to ignite himself.
Oliveira earned a submission victory over Kevin Lee Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 170 inside of an empty arena in Brazil. No fans were allowed due to the threat of the coronavirus, but the show went on.
With the win, Oliveira pushed his win streak to seven – all coming via finish. That tied him with Chuck Liddell for most in UFC history, just one behind Anderson Silva.
Oliveira also earned his 16th career Octagon stoppage win, tying him with Donald Cerrone for that record.
After, Oliveira requested a spot to watch Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson meet for the lightweight title next month at UFC 249.
“I will be sitting in the first row,” he said. “No way to deny it. I’m one of the best in the world and that belt is mine.”
