WWE signs free agents Killer Kross and Timothy Thatcher

News has reached our office that WWE has signed two free agents to their NXT roster, Killer Kross and Timothy Thatcher. While AEW had their eye on these two wrestlers, it seems World Wrestling Entertainment has won the bidding war. With the news of these two free agents joining the NXT roster, let’s take a closer look at each one.

Killer Kross

Killer Kross signed by the WWE

Killer Kross is one of the most exciting superstars on the indie scene. Kross, whose real name is Kevin Kesar, has an extensive indie wrestling background. He has wrestled for promotions such as Global Force Wrestling, Lucha Underground, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, Impact Wrestling, and Major League Wrestling.

While he has not won as many titles as most people coming from the indies, his persona speaks to many wrestling fans and he does come with his own following already. He has also worked with some of the biggest superstars in the past including Tommy Dreamer, Austin Aries, Eddie Edwards, Brian Cage, and countless others.

Timothy Thatcher

Timothy Thatcher signed by WWE

Timothy Thatcher is an interesting choice as well. Like Killer Cross, he has an extensive background in the indies. However, he does have a lot more titles and championships to his name.

Interestingly, Timothy Thatcher is one of the original members of Imperium, who are currently embroiled in a feud with the Undisputed Era. Imperium’s leader and current NXT UK Champion Walter would react to the signing on social media with a throwback photo of the original Imperium faction.

Timothy Thatcher being signed by the WWE could have some serious consequences. After all, it could mean one additional member for Imperium. The Undisputed Era has remained one of the main factions on NXT’s main brand, but could this all be coming to an end with the return of Thatcher?

One final fact you need to know about Thatcher is that he is one of only two men to hold the Evolve and the Open The Freedom Gate Championships at the same time. The only other man to do so? Drew McIntyre. This has future feud written all over it!

Could Killer Kross Go To The Main Roster Immediately?

WWE signs free agents

It is clear that the WWE has signed Thatcher with a purpose. Even though he has many accolades of his own, his association with Imperium is very interesting to say the least. So, I am pretty sure that he will go to NXT UK to rejoin Imperium.

Killer Kross is a different matter. I am 90% sure that he will head to NXT, but his character is so original he may skip NXT altogether. Think Dean Ambrose, but take it up by about 1000% in scariness and craziness.

Kross should do well, no matter which brand he ends up on. I hope the WWE decided to sign them for their talent and to actually use them, not to sabotage acquisitions for AEW. Both Thatcher and Kross are outstanding wrestlers. Let’s just hope they are used properly on the brand they end up on.
