UFC Auckland: Jimmy Crute Cruises Through Michael Oleksiejczuk

After incurring the first loss of his pro-career last time out, Jimmy Crute demonstrated again tonight why he’s someone to watch in the light-heavyweight division. The 23-year-old cruised through Michael Oleksiejczuk for a quick, first round win.

Round one

Crute shot in with a takedown, after missing with a headkick and took Oleksiejczuk to the mat. Oleksiejczuk got back to his feet a couple of times, but Crute kept sweeping him back to the floor. After another TD mid round, Crute moved into mount and started looking for a choke. Crute moved to sidemount, locked up a kimura and Oleksiejczuk tapped. Impressive win for Crute.

After the bout, Crute called out Misha Cirkunov, who defeated him last December. Crute’s record is now 11-1. Oleksiejczuk’s record fell to 14-4.
