With 43 days until WrestleMania 36, WWE is starting to announce some of their marquee matches. As of now, Tripe H has not been booked in a match and there are currently no plans for him to compete.

Unless plans change, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how Triple H will no be wrestling on the biggest show of the year. Of course, he can always appear on camera for some sort of angle.

If Triple H does not wrestle, it will be the first time since WrestleMania 23. Since joining WWE about 25 years ago, Triple H has only missed two WrestleManias and both were due to injury. Considering how WWE has lots planned for the entire week, Triple H will have his hands full. And, he has to take care of NXT Takeover Orlando, which may very likely steal the weekend.

In the past, Triple H has always been given a a major match at WrestleMania. He handed Sting a loss in his WWE debut at WrestleMania 31 and then lost in the main event of WrestleMania 32 to Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship. The following year, Seth Rollins got the better in an Unsanctioned Match. Triple H then teamed with Stephanie McMahon and lost to Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34. Last year, he retired Batista.

Other high-profile names not currently listed to work the card include Bill Goldberg, Sting and Ronda Rousey. WWE has plans for John Cena and Undertaker. Cena’s storyline might begin on the next episode of SmackDown as he makes his return to WWE TV.

Reaction To Triple H Possibly Not Working The Card

ESPN – WWE Negotiations

Vince McMahon

There are reports that WWE and ESPN are talking. The conversation has to do with WWE content airing across ESPN+. If the reports are true, the deal would be similar to what the UFC and ESPN are doing.

No word on were the negotiations are currently at, but the concept would likely see WWE pay per views stream on ESPN. Also, we are not sure how this would affect the WWE Network.

The idea is that working with ESPN would see an increase in WWE viewership. WWE has mentioned that they are talking to several streaming services and were looking to make an announcement during the first quarter of 2020.
