Triple H Edge Paige

Triple H Asked About Edge & Paige In-Ring Returns

Triple H Edge Paige

There are two big rumors right now and of course they happen to come up right before the Royal Rumble. Some believe that Edge and Paige are going to be cleared for in-ring competition.

Before NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool II, Triple H spoke to the media and that question came up. Triple H emphasized how neither made a personal choice to retire, as it came from the advice of medical.

“Just because you have a doctor every now and then doesn’t mean you have a medical protocol,” said Triple H. “For us there are certain parameters when we believe that it’s not in your best interest, we put the human being first, their health, and their long-term health.”

There have been rumors of Edge returning for at least one more match since he speared Elias at SummerSlam. Over the past few weeks, the odds of a return seem more likely. But, Edge has denied several time that he is returning inside the ring.

Possible Angles For Edge And Paige

With Brock Lesnar entering the Rumble Match, some think he could get eliminated by Edge to set up a WrestleMania match. Also, Randy Orton dropped Edge’s name in a recent promo, so a Rated RKO reunion is another option..

As for Paige, she was sidelined for over a year due to back and neck injuries. Paige would eventually return, but only months later she again hurt her neck in December 2017. Like Edge, she was forced to retire.

While away from the ring, Paige has been a manger, general manger and now is part of WWE Backstage. Some are wondering if Paige will enter the Women’s Rumble Match.

The Daniel Bryan Factor

Of course, Daniel Bryan is a famous example of a career that once looked over. After being told by many doctors to retire, Bryan would eventually be cleared. Triple H made sure to address what Bryan went through.

“He worked extraordinarily hard for a long period of time to get himself back to a place physically,” said Triple H. [Then], the same people that disqualified [Bryan] were willing to say, ‘Now I feel like this is a safe return.’”

With the Royal Rumble weeks away, we should know soon if Edge and/or Paige are headed back inside a WWE ring.

NWA Invades ROH

Apparently, Ring of Honor (ROH) and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) are working together. Seeing the competition from WWE and AEW, it makes sense the promotions are helping each other out.

During a ROH show this past weekend, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis showed up. He came from the crowd and took out Villain Enterprise member Flip Gordon.

During this segment, ROH’s Marty Scurll left the ringside area. There have been questions for weeks about where Scurll will sign as everyone seems to want to piece. That includes NJPW, ROH, WWE, AEW and NWA.
