First it was Strikeforce. Invicta FC and UFC followed. Now, Cris Cyborg is the Bellator champion.
Cyborg became the first fighter to win titles in all four promotions Saturday night, finishing Julia Budd in the main event of Bellator 238. The event aired live on DAZN from The Forum in Los Angeles.
The finish came in the fourth round just as the action was heating up.
Cyborg landed with power shots, finishing Budd on the ground to improve to 22-2 in her career. The win was the second straight for the 34-year-old since a 2018 loss to Amanda Nunes.
For Budd, her 11-fight win streak was snapped with the defeat. She had not been defeated since a 2011 setback to Ronda Rousey while both were competing for Strikeforce.
In the co-main event, former Bellator featherweight champion Darrion Caldwell advanced in the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix. Caldwell finished Adam Borics in the first round with a rear-naked choke.
Juan Achuleta topped Henry Corrales in a featherweight feature attraction, while former UFC fighter Sergio Pettis won his promotional debut over Alfred Khashakyan via submission.
Raymond Daniels stopped Jason King and Emilee King submitted Ava Knight to complete the main card.
On the prelims, Aaron Pico picked up a second round knockout when he flattened Daniel Carey 15 seconds into the round.
Other winners on the prelim card included Joshua Jones, AJ Agazarm, Jay Jay Wilson, Curtis Millender, Anthony Taylor and Miguel Jacob.
