Two superstars on RAW have impressed Paul Heyman and are set for major pushes in 2020. Also, Alexa Bliss is getting her own WWE podcast.
With a new year quickly approaching, look for some familiar faces to be better featured. Right now, RAW Executive Director Paul Heyman has plans for Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy to receive pushes heading into 2020.
The two have been working a program for over a month. At first, they were just trading comments in backstage segments.
Then at TLC, they met in match that received high praise. In fact, fans in a WWE poll voted how the match stole the show at TLC. They won the poll with over 70% of the votes.
The feud continued this past week on RAW, with both securing wins over enhancement talent. They are set for a rematch from TLC at the final RAW of 2019.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Heyman sees both superstars as big attractions. The current idea is for Murphy to play a strong heel with Black countering as a big babyface.
In NXT, Black went on a lengthy undefeated streak and eventually captured the NXT Championship. He only lost a few times for the black and yellow brand before getting called to the main roster.
As for Murphy, he also worked in NXT before becoming part of the 205 Live brand. That is when is career started to boom and he would eventually hold the Cruiserweight Championship. He grabbed the attention of many over the summer for his SmackDown match with Roman Reigns.
If Black and Murphy can duplicate or even top their TLC performance on the USA Network, it could very well mean bigger things. Black vs. Murphy is something to keep an eye on this Monday.
The WWE announced earlier in the year that some their superstars would be getting their own podcast. Now, we can add Alexa Bliss to that list.
PWInsider reports that Bliss will start recording within the next few weeks. As of now, there is no name or debut date for the podcast.
For a large chunk of this year, and some of 2018, Bliss missed in-ring action due to concussions. While she was not able to compete inside the ring, WWE gave her a talkshow segment called Moment of Bliss. It seemed like a hit with fans and gave her something to do besides wrestling.
Other podcast that frequently appear on the WWE Network include Corey Graves’ ‘After The Bell’ and New Day’s ‘The New Day: Feel The Power.’ Plus, Steve Austin still does ‘The Broken Skull Session’ with the likes of Goldberg and Undertaker being recent guests.
