It has just been announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be attending President Donald Trump’s visit to Buckingham Palace today.
Harry And Meghan Snub Trump
The Daily Caller reports that Trump is scheduled to go to Buckingham Palace today to attend a reception during his two-day NATO summit in London. The reception is being hosted by Queen Elizabeth. And virtually all of the royals will be in attendance. Well, except for Meghan and Harry.
Other royals who are set to attend the event include Kate Middleton, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Kate’s husband Prince William would undoubtedly be attending, but he is currently on a four-day tour of Kuwait and Oman.
Harry and Meghan are currently taking a break from public duties due to the negative press that they have received in the past few months.
“The Duke and Duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time,” a royal source said as an excuse for why they will not be in attendance.

Royals Have Snubbed Trump Before
This is not the first time the royal couple came under fire for seemingly snubbing the American president. When Trump visited the United Kingdom earlier this year, Meghan used the fact that she had recently given birth to her son Archie as an “excuse” to not meet with him.
In the lead-up to Trump’s June 3 visit, royal expert Duncan Larcombe said that Meghan saw her baby as a “convenient excuse” to not see Trump.
“I’m told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump,” Larcombe said. “Not as a snub because – how shall we say – it’s a quite convenient period of maternity leave so she won’t be working. The fact she’s on maternity leave obviously gives her an excuse.”

Meghan then raised eyebrows when she attended the Trooping of the Colour celebration just one week after Trump left London. Making it clear that the Duchess really could have met with the American President all along.
Meghan’s Trump Bashing
Prior to marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was an outspoken liberal activist. The former actress regularly went on record speaking out against Trump.
“Yes, of course, Trump is divisive, think about female voters alone, right? I think it was in 2012 the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points; that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that is a huge chunk of it,” Meghan said in an interview before the 2016 election.
“You’re not just voting for a woman if it’s Hillary because she’s a woman, but certainly because Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting.”
The British royal family is supposed to remain politically neutral at all times. So it’s shocking that Meghan and Harry are allowed to treat the American President in this way.
If Harry and Meghan are this desperate to involve themselves in political affairs, why don’t they give up their taxpayer-funded lifestyles and start actually working for a living for a change?
