Chenoweth

These days, it’s rare to find a Hollywood celebrity who is open about their Christian faith. That’s why it came as a welcome surprise when Hollywood and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth did just that earlier this month.

Chenoweth Discusses Her Christian Faith

While promoting her Christmas special “Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir,” Chenoweth gave an interview to “Fox And Friends” in which she opened up about her faith.

“I’m a Christian person and I never thought that was different or interesting at all until I moved to New York and started understanding that there are a lot of people with a lot of faiths,” explained 51-year-old Chenoweth,

“I’m not perfect, I mess up a lot,” said Chenoweth. “But, I’m certainly glad I have my faith.”

Chenoweth got her start on Broadway. Where the soprano is best known for her role of Glinda in the musical “Wicked”.

She’s gone on to find great success in Hollywood as well, earning Emmy nominations for her work on the shows “Pushing Daisy” and “Glee”.

Chenoweth’s Various Christmas Projects

In the lead-up to her Christmas special, Chenoweth was excited to perform Christmas classics with the legendary Tabernacle Choir. Here’s a sneak peek:

“I think (performing with the Tabernacle Choir) is kind of a right of passage for a lot of artists,” Chenoweth said. “I look at the people who have come before me and done it and I’m like, ‘I want to… do it.”

“It’s 200 singers behind me and 175 orchestra members and the musicianship at the Tabernacle is at the highest level and some of the best music that I’ve been a part of,” she continued. “I’m very, very proud of it. And, you know, just because we don’t exactly believe everything the same, the Mormons and I, I feel like music is such a unification thing and we move forward through the music.”

This wasn’t the only Christmas project that Chenoweth took part in this year. She also appeared in the Hallmark Channel’s “A Christmas Love Story”. The holiday tale also stars Scott Wolf and aired on the network throughout December.

A Rarity In Hollywood

Hollywood has gotten extremely secular as it has moved further and further left. It’s reached the point where “coming out” as a Christian seems like a risky career move for celebrities.

We applaud Chenoweth for taking part in multiple Christmas projects this holiday season. But also for being so open about her faith.

She’s the kind of woman that young girls everywhere should be looking up to!
