Sean Hannity Defends Fox News Host Ainsley Earhardt From Howard Stern’s Vicious Mockery

Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt remembers how radio host Howard Stern brutally mocked her Christian faith on his show. Sean Hannity helps Earhardt by sharing some of his signature perspective.

Earhardt’s Response to Stern’s Attacks on Her Faith

During a special holiday edition of Fox Nation’s “Ainsley’s Bible Study,” Earhardt recalled how Stern viciously mocked her faith on his show in May.

Stern’s mockery was directed towards a specific episode of Earhardt’s show. In the show, she was opening up about a challenge she was facing. She shared how God was guiding her through it to peace.

Rather than lash out at Stern, Earhardt recalls:

“My whole Bible study watched his interview and we all felt sorry for him and we all prayed for him,” Earhardt said of Stern. “We love him. We want him to know Christ. That’s it.”

Sean Hannity’s Take On Howard Stern

Fox News host Sean Hannity was a guest on Earhardt’s show when she talked about Howard Stern. Here’s Hannity’s take on the matter:

“Honestly, he was like totally making fun of your Bible study,” Hannity said. “What was really interesting to me is I actually viewed it for you [as] you had something that he didn’t have.”

“I’ve interviewed Howard on radio and on TV,” he continued, “I admire him a lot…but what I realized [is that] he does not understand, as smart, talented and gifted [as he is], he doesn’t have what you have — which is he doesn’t seem to think ever about the majesty of God or the need for the spiritual component.”

Earhardt Shares How Hannity Privately Helped Her

Earhardt then got candid and recounted a private conversation that she had with Hannity after she found herself getting negative media coverage early in her career.

“I remember the first time a negative headline was written about me and I approached you and I was upset… it was hard for me because my faith is important to me. I wanted to be liked,” she said.

Hannity’s response was joking about the negative scrutiny that he’s received from the media himself.

“I told you ‘Just go Google my name…you’ll feel a lot better,'” Hannity joked.

When Earhardt asked Hannity for the secret of “being liked and still being a Christian,” Hannity responded that it’s a matter of “staying true to who you are.”

“I don’t worry about being liked. I worry about being true to who I am, and I feel that this is an important time for the country, for the world,” he said.

Earhardt Discusses the Challenges With Being a Christian

Later on in the show, Earhardt talked about the challenges of being a Christian, and the reality of “backsliding” in light of challenges.

“We all backslide,” she said. Earhardt explained, “We can become a Christian. We can say we’re saved. We can accept Jesus in our heart, but we all backslide. Life is long. Life is hard. There are times when you do things that you’re not happy about and it’s just trying to make yourself better the next day.”

It’s despicable that Earhardt had to suffer through her Christian faith being attacked by Stern. Had he done that to a Muslim or someone of another faith, he would have been publicly shamed and his show undoubtedly would have been cancelled.

Since Stern targeted a Christian, however, he suffered no repercussions for his actions.

We applaud Earhardt for taking the high road and responding to Stern’s appalling behavior by praying for him. She is a true class act.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
