Karma can be a real b*tch. Colin Kaepernick’s highly publicized workout for NFL teams has reportedly backfired in a very real way. Insider reports indicate not a single NFL team has contacted Kaepernick to express interest in signing the former pro quarterback since his showcase. Not. A. Single. One.
Fox News reported that Kaepernick’s workout took place in front of seven teams on November 16 at Charles R. Drew High School in Riverdale, Georgia. Kaepernick’s people then sent video footage of his workout to the 25 other teams in the league.
But – ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that “no teams have reached out to work him out, visit with him or sign him.”
This comes after Kaepernick’s attorney Mark Geragos claimed that two teams had shown interest in the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback.
“One who is legitimately in need of a quarterback who had a very poor showing on Sunday and has got an owner that I don’t think gives a sh-t,” Geragos said.
The lack of interest in Kaepernick could stem from him changing the location of his workout at the last second, which his representatives said was to ensure “a transparent and open process.”
“Mr. Kaepernick requested all media be allowed into the workout to observe and film it and for an independent film crew to be there to ensure transparency,” they said in a statement.
“The NFL denied this request. Based on the prior conduct by the league office, Mr. Kaepernick simply asks for a transparent and open process which is why a new location has been selected for today. Mr. Kaepernick looks forward to seeing the representatives from the clubs today.”

Kaepernick has not been signed by an NFL team since leaving the 49ers at the end of the 2016 season. At the time, Kaepernick walked away from a $16.9 million deal to become a free agent and get out of San Francisco.
That same year, Kaepernick drew controversy when he started taking a knee during the national anthem before his games. His national anthem kneeling was reportedly to protest racial inequality in the United States. Soon, the protest spread throughout the NFL drawing fan backlash and making international headlines.
Liberals have since turned Kaepernick into a martyr of sorts, claiming that he has remains unsigned for racist reasons.
Others, however, point out that Kaepernick led the 49ers to an abysmal losing record in 2016. Reminding us to look at more than just the politics and consider what Kapernick as brings to a team as a player and team leader.
Kaepernick continues to embrace the role of the victim and not own how his choices or on-field performance contribute to his situation. One might even question if he wants to play professional football or just find opportunities to regain the spotlight.
So far, the message NFL teams are sending is loud and clear.
