Duggar Family Homeland Security Raid

NBC affiliate KNWA in Arkansas reported that the Department of Homeland Security recently raided the Duggar family home in Tontitown. The Duggar family is widely known for their hit TLC reality series “19 Kids And Counting”.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed to KNWA that agents were at the Duggar home. But, the Duggars officially denied the raid ever happened.

Duggar Homeland Security Raid

A raid is a rather significant event and it either happened or it didn’t. It’s hard to understand why Jim Bob and Michelle would state the raid didn’t occur if it did. Currently, this is a he said/she said situation. Homeland Security won’t release details unless there are federal charges issued.

A spokesperson for HSI confirmed, “[I do not dispute the information that] HSI was present there [Duggar home] pursuant to an on-going federal criminal investigation.”

HSI, according to their website, is an investigative component of ICE that targets “cross-border criminal organizations that exploit America’s legitimate trade, travel, financial and immigration systems for their illicit purposes”. Well that certainly raises an eyebrow.

KNWA also contacted the U.S. District Attorney for Western Arkansas who declined to comment on the incident.

Josh Duggar’s Business Raided

There is only speculation at this point as to why the home of the “19 Kids And Counting” family would be raided by the feds.

Their oldest son Josh Duggar has been in the headlines with molestation accusations and sexual addiction.

In addition, a lawsuit accusing Josh of real estate fraud was filed against him earlier this year. That trial is scheduled to begin early next year.

5News out of Northwest Arkansas also reports that Homeland Security investigators did not deny raiding a business owned by Josh. That report could be connected to or conflicting with reports of the Tontitown home raid.

Duggar Statement Of Denial

The Duggars released a statement through their publicist Chad Gallagher denying KNWA’s report about their home being raided.

“We were shocked to see a news report today state that our home was raided by federal law enforcement agencies. This is not true. To the best of our knowledge, it’s also not true that any member of our family is the target of any investigation of any kind. Living a life in the public’s eye has taught us that it is best not to reply to every rumor and piece of “fake news” that is circulated online. It would be a full-time job if we attempted to do so. However, because of tonight’s media coverage we thought it is important to address this rumor with you. Thank you for the love and support that we can always count on in you our fans and friends.”

This is quite alarming news to fans of the Duggar Family. It certainly doesn’t bode well with the overall image of the family. Since Homeland Security is being tightlipped about the reason for the raid.
