Social media has made the world a more accessible and connected place. People from all walks of life, including television personalities and their fans, can interact daily and the good largely outweighs the negative. Stars and regular people alike can take to Facebook and Instagram to share pictures of their lives and kids with friends and family or the entire world.

One reality show celebrity who does so is Jessa Duggar Seewald from TLC’s “Counting On” series. In a cute post of her 3-year-old son Spurgeon, Jessa, 26, gushed over the little boy’s clothes, giving an unpaid promotion of the consignment shop where she apparently got them.

“Not a sponsored post, but just want to make other mamas aware — If you want to save big on your kids’ clothing, be sure to carve out time for @rhealanasofnwa NEXT WEEK!! ,” Jessa, 26, wrote on Instagram. “I’m already making my list! The savings can’t be beat!”

For anyone who knows anything about the “mom-group” genre of social media, this is a pretty standard post. Mom’s share sale info daily. However, one of Jessa’s Instagram followers decided to respond by attempting to call her out as a liar, saying the post was “totally sponsored” and that they could tell because the photos looked professionally done.

Jessa’s good-natured response stopped the online grouser in their tracks.

The user must not know about advancements in mobile photography, which Jessa pointed out was how the photo was taken. Replying to the naysaying crackpot investigator Jessa said, “Well I’m not a professional photographer, but thank you for the compliment. It’s called ‘portrait’ mode on the iPhone.”

Thankfully, the majority of responses were appropriate comments about how cute little Spurgeon is. But it’s good that Jessa claps back politely while at the same time laughing at the ridiculousness of how some people choose to interact on social media and the idea that she’d lie about something so silly as a sale at a children’s consignment shop.
