Roman Reigns Says Fans Misunderstand Seth Rollins

Fans were not happy with the outcome of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, as the main event ended with a disqualification. They made their discontent very clear at the event and on social media. But, Seth Rollins jumped to the WWE’s defence again.

Naturally, the tension between fans and Seth Rollins has been quite noticeable lately. To help mend some bridges, Roman Reigns has stepped up to help his friend.

Seth Rollins Has A Reputation To Argue With Fans

Over the past couple of years, several incidents have been reported where Seth Rollins argued with a fan about the WWE product. Social media can be a very negative place and Rollins has been a target for a considerable time. Unfortunately, he often takes the bait and this always gets featured in the news.

In the past couple of months, he claimed fans were jealous of his relationship with Becky Lynch. He also attacked fans who criticised the WWE product online. There have been too many incidents to describe in detail.

Roman Reigns Defends His Friend’s Actions

As fans, we do not really know the true person behind the wrestler. Even though we see glimpses, we do not know the person at all. So, misunderstandings about certain statements are certainly possible. There is no doubt in my mind that Seth Rollins is a dedicated and talented wrestler.

One man who does know the man behind the wrestler is none other than Roman Reigns. He allegedly has a close friendship with The Architect. He  explained recent events as follows.

“Seth loves the WWE. That’s why some people misread some of the things he says or the ways he delivers it, but he does mean well. He’s a workhorse. Yeah, he’s a little live at the mouth sometimes, but he’s got a heart of gold, trust me.

“Whether he’s on Raw or SmackDown, the WWE is in good hands with him as champion.”

I think the culture of “trolling” and online criticism has gotten out of hand and wrestlers certainly have the right to defend themselves. People forget that nobody is perfect. When you look at a wrestler in the WWE, you may have this wrestler on a pedestal. Once the rose-tinted glasses come off, and you notice that your favorite wrestler is not perfect, it often leads to disappointment and subsequent social media tirades. As fans, we cannot forget that wrestlers are people, they are not infallible.

Blown Out Of Proportion?

A lot of things about Seth Rollins have been blown out of proportion lately. While this is not uncommon for someone in the spotlight like Seth Rollins, it could eventually harm the man’s career.

Fortunately, The Architect has taken some steps to get away from the negativity of social media. Shortly after Sasha Banks trolled Seth with one of his own tweets – mainly to heat up her feud with Becky – Rollins deactivated his Twitter account. Social media can be very poisonous, so he probably made the right decision.
