CM Punk's WWE Backstage Return

CM Punk Confirms Interest In WWE Return With FOX Sports 1

CM Punk Distancing Himself

While, at least for now, the notion of CM Punk competing once more in the WWE ring is a long-shot, the former champion could be back working with the promotion in the very near future.

In an interview with Collider Live, Punk confirmed that he had a try out for a WWE backstage show that would air on FOX Sports 1. The WWE signed a contract for SmackDown and other programming with FOX earlier this year.

Punk, who was on the program to promote his film “Girl On The Third Floor,” left the door open for “anything.”

“Yeah, I did it. I’m very much in a position where, ‘Well, come talk to me,'” Punk said. “I’m open to anything. If they come to me with, ‘Hey, we want you to wrestle,’ I’ll say, ‘Um, I’m not interested.”

The soon-to-be 41-year-old Punk ended his run in pro wrestling in 2014, signing with the UFC to begin a career in mixed martial arts. After going 0-2 with a loss via submission and another by decision, Punk signed with Cage Fury Fighting Championships to work as a commentator.

He is a former WWE heavyweight champion on five instances, former ECW champion, tag team champion and Intercontinental champion. Punk claimed Money in the Bank twice and was the 19th triple crown champion in the WWE.

Sasha Banks Given ‘Perks’ By Vince McMahon To Return

Sasha Banks

When Sasha Banks walked away from the WWE earlier this year, many were left shocked. Her return, though, has come with plenty of added perks to the new contract signed by Vince McMahon.

“Since I came back, he gave me a really good contract,” Banks told We Have Cool Friends during a recent interview. “We have this great relationship because, you know, we talk money. He wants me to make him cool. I’m just helping him with jokes; we’ll text jokes to each other every single day.

“He sends me a private jet. He gave me my own bus. I’m just so blessed. I’m probably the first-ever woman to have her own bus.”

The 27-year-old Banks made her WWE debut in 2012 in NXT, becoming the champion there two years later. She debuted on RAW in 2015 with Charlotte and Becky Lynch helping spark a “revolution” as ordered by Stephanie McMahon of the women’s division.

Following a fourth-month hiatus from the WWE, Banks returned in August and attacked Natalya before going after Lynch to spark that feud. The two are set for a rematch from Clash of Champions at Hell in a Cell for the women’s championship in just the second-ever women’s Hell in a Cell match.
