After failing to book Kamaru Usman versus Colby Covington for the UFC’s November 2nd card in New York City, it’s being reported the promotion’s signed the grudge match for December 14th.

Talks for Usman vs. Covington

Not long ago it was revealed that talks were underway to book Usman – Covington for UFC 244. But, the fight wasn’t signed and the UFC went with Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal for the main event. Covington spiked concerns that the fight wouldn’t get signed anytime soon, after he accused the UFC of “bullying” and coming with a low-ball offer.

The fight is reportedly on

Well, ESPN is reporting that sources are saying Usman – Covington has been added to UFC 245, and other outlets have relayed the same since.

So, this is huge news, as this fight has to happen. Not only because Covington (15-1) has won six in a row, and secured the 170 interim belt during that time, but because of the massive beef the fighters have.

Usman (15-1) hasn’t fought since he dominated Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 in March, and ended his reign as welterweight champion via decision. Covington fought last month at UFC Newark and cruised to a decision win over Robbie Lawler.

This is also a massive development, as now UFC 245 will feature not one, not two, but three title fights.

Here is the complete line-up to date for the December 14th card, which will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas.
