Rumored SummerSlam Match Possibly Scratched, Location For 2020

– The past few weeks have seen Vince McMahon go on a tear as the script for SmackDown is consistently being changed. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, they noted how Sami Zayn vs. Aleister Black was originally in the works for Sunday’s SummerSlam. Instead, that match took place Tuesday night with Black getting the victory.

There is always the chance WWE can book a rematch on the pay per view out of Toronto, Canada. The card is pretty full and it seems like WWE might have already advertised  the entire card; outside of a potential match involving Roman Reigns. He has been rumored to take on Buddy Murphy, Rowan or Daniel Bryan. Some have also speculated of Reigns teaming with Samoa Joe following his potential face turn on RAW.

Since returning to action after surgery on his shoulder, Zayn has not done much after mentioning the name of All Elite Wrestling on RAW. People have been going back and forth if that is true. After only appearing in vignettes, Black recently returned to TV and worked with Cesaro.

– SummerSlam this year’s comes from Canada, but 2020 will see the biggest party of the summer head back to the United States. Boston will be home to the event as the news was broken by The Boston Globe. It will come from the TD Garden, which has held plenty of shows in WWE history.

Like recent years, there will several events leading to SummerSlam, including NXT Takeover. The big weekend takes place from August 21 to August 24. WWE will likely announce their return to Boston during Sunday’s show.

A big name out of the area is John Cena, who WWE would want to book in a big way. Cena has tied the record of being a 16 time world champion for a few years and it is only a matter of time before he surpasses Ric Flair’s number. That could very well take place from Boston and make the event special for Cena the local fans.
