Dear WWE Creative, When Stables Hold All The Gold

Dear WWE Creative,

There is a certain air within WWE programming as of late; a feeling of change, a feeling that things are getting better and will stay this way for a while. It’s no secret how television rating had lagged over this year, disgruntled fans are letting their thoughts known on social media, and it seems as if officials have clearly taken a proactive approach in changing things by hiring creative legends in Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman to lead both SmackDown LIVE and Monday Night RAW, respectively, onto a path ro success moving forward.

While there have been many factors that have enhanced WWE televised content and storylines, but one major thing I have enjoyed is how stables have been booked as of late. In my day, The Four Horsemen ruled the roost due to their heel ways, aggression, arrogance, and the fact that they would always strut into promos displaying all the gold they carried within the promotion they were in. Same can be said for factions run by Bobby Heenan and Jimmy “The Mouth of the South” Hart. Moreover, the NWO always seemed to be able snag all the major titles during their high-level run.

Which has made it a refreshing change, and a shout-out to the older days of wrestling and sports entertainment, to see the two top factions in both the Red and Blue brand hold all the gold. Dominance and being the “top guys”, so to speak, can show in many ways; however, there is nothing like having every talent in your stable with championships. It provides a certain prestige, truly reveals to the rest of the roster and the world that you are the best-of-the-best; superstars to be reckoned with, ultimately showing the power and supremacy of the numbers game and having all the right talent flock together.

The New Day have been riding a wave for years now when it comes to being top guys within the WWE. While the stable has broken record tag team title records, the ultimate nod to their success, and Kofi Kingston’s incredible talent, was having him win the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 35. They are currently riding a high wave in the WWE, and it shows.

When it comes to the OC, while AJ Styles has accomplished a lot since entering the WWE in 2016. From his two successful reigns as WWE Champion, and three nice U.S. Title runs, Styles has been one of the top guys in the company since he landed; however, the same can’t be said for Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson within the tag team division.

The Club has had some television time, mostly when they are linked to Styles, and one title run before this current one, but many (including me) have felt that they haven’t always been booked quite right, creatively speaking. Here’s hoping that all changes with this new heel OC faction, and placing the RAW tag team championships is a solid start.

Signed,

Me.
