Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor understands and respects a great performance when he sees one.

That’s why, despite all the bad blood and wars he has had over the years with Nate Diaz, “Notorious” was still able to offer respect for his win over Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 recently.

Diaz earned the win via submission in the first meeting with McGregor, while the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion bounced back for a majority decision in the rematch. Related: Conor McGregor Caught On Film Striking Elderly Bar Patron

“3 years to the day myself and this Mexican warrior went to war,” McGregor posted on Instagram. “Congrats on the win this weekend Nate, it was motivating to see it for my own comeback. I don’t blame you not mentioning me for the trilogy bout post fight, you know what I’m like when I get going. Vicious.

“I loved the round 3 style from round 1 that you implemented. It’s what I was hoping you would implement for this bout and was glad to see you do it.

“I’ll be prepared for it when we go again. If we go again.

“If not, respect always. A war for the ages. No bitch talk. Just real shit.”

It will be interesting to see if we do get the trilogy between McGregor and Diaz. For now, McGregor has kept his name in the headlines in a bad way including his involvement with a person inside an Irish bar. McGregor was caught on film hitting the person after he declined a shot of his whiskey. Diaz, meanwhile, has mentioned facing Jorge Masvidal next.
