2 WWE Names On Shaky Ground, Reason For Steve Austin’s Return

Reports State Lio Rush And Lars Sullivan “In Limbo” Within WWE

A pair of WWE superstars could soon be handed their walking papers if things do not change rather quickly.

According to PWInsider, both Lio Rush and Lars Sullivan are said to be “in limbo” in regards to their position within the company at the moment. For the time being, Rush has been away from wrestling, focusing his attention and time on music and other projects.

However, there might not be a spot open for him when – and if – he decides to return. Rush served as the mouthpiece for Bobby Lashley before backstage heat forced officials to remove him from the road.

The 24-year-old Rush joined the WWE through NXT and 205 Live in 2017. He became the hype man for Lashley last September, taking part in a 2-on-1 match with Finn Balor as Lashley’s teammate at Elimination Chamber.

As for Sullivan, it appears to be a case of injuries mounting up for the big man. An injury curtailed any heat Sullivan was generating, and the rest of his build was almost wiped clean away after messages posted on a bodybuilding website surfaced that were deemed racist, sexist, homophobic and offensive, with some geared towards WWE employees.

This past June, Sullivan suffered a knee injury that will likely keep him out for much of the rest of the year. He also was fined $100,000 by the WWE, according to PWInsider.

Sullivan, 31 years old, signed with the WWE in 2013 and made his debut two years later. He appeared on NXT in 2017 and was promoted to the main roster the following year.

WWE Bringing Steve Austin Back For Madison Square Garden RAW

Former champion Steve Austin recently appeared at the RAW Reunion show, but it appears as if he will make another quick appearance for the company this September.

According to PWInsider, Austin will be part of the upcoming Madison Square Garden show on Monday, September 9 for RAW in New York City. While this does not indicate a full-on return by “The Texas Rattlesnake,” officials are using him to help boost ticket sales.

Reports state that the WWE has yet to sell Madison Square Garden out, in fact, “they’re half sold-out for RAW and a little bit less than half sold out for SmackDown based on the seating maps.”

The WWE is promoting Austin’s appearance on their own website in hopes of helping with ticket sales. This is the first time RAW has been held inside MSG since 2009 when John Cena and The Undertaker took on Triple H and Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho and Big Show in a triple threat tag team match.
