WrestleMania 36 Matches Nixed

Fans have began to associate Vince McMahon with empty promises, but this could all change soon. According to wrestling news website Fightful, WWE officials have finally gotten through to Vince, who is now ready to make some changes.

Ratings Drop Influencing Vince McMahon’s Decisions

WrestlingNews.co claims that Vince McMahon’s hand has been forced by the ratings drop over the past couple of months. According to them, Vince has asked the advice of several people and is finally starting to listen to the criticism many people expressed over the past couple of years.

Still, the idea that things are changing is not new. One of the biggest indicators of change over the past couple of months is the acquisition of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as executive directors of Raw and SmackDown. While this change is still in its infancy, it made a lot of fans tune in again.

Teenage Worries

One of the biggest problems facing the WWE today is the loss of their teenage demographic. With the arrival of AEW on TNT this October, the WWE is more worried than ever about losing their teen demographic forever.

“They were very aware that they had lost touch with the teenagers. They were afraid of completely losing teenagers, especially when AEW starts. This is a direction they felt they had to go.” – Dave Meltzer

In addition to the teenage demographic, the WWE is looking to pay some extra attention to fans between the ages of 18 and 34; a demographic I’m lucky enough to find myself in still. Aside from losing their teenage viewers, this is the group where the WWE has suffered the most losses. If the brand is to survive in the years to come, they must get these fans on board with the product again.

There are a lot of changes to be made for the company to once again speak to these groups. But at the end of the day, all ideas must go through the big boss first. In the past, many ideas never made it to our screens, so one does have to wonder if it will be different in the months to come? If Fightful is correct about Vince’s attitude, then we should see some serious changes to the main roster within weeks. If no changes come, then I’m afraid the WWE might become a sinking ship in a matter of years.

Despite the problems in the WWE, Vince McMahon is not a stupid man. In fact, he build an empire and a successful brand that came out victorious in the Monday Night Wars. Still, will he be willing to listen this time? I hope he does, as this product is far too valuable.
