Randy Orton Injured? + Eric Bischoff Delayed

-We have not seen much from Randy Orton of late, and now there’s a bit more information as to why that is.

Per Fightful, apparently the Legend Killer has been dealing with a neck injury of some sort, and was given time off to rest and recover. The injury is said to not be too serious. With that in mind, the expectation is that we should see The Viper back on WWE television in the not too distant future.

With SummerSlam rapidly approaching, it will be interesting to see if WWE brings Orton back for a match at the big summer show, or if they save his return for after.

-As anyone should know by now, Eric Bischoff is back with WWE. Bischoff, along with Paul Heyman, was given the role of Executive Director just over a week ago. While Heyman was assigned to RAW, Bischoff will be serving as SmackDown’s Executive Director.

Last Monday was Heyman’s first in that new role, and it’s been said that Vince McMahon was very happy with last week’s Monday Night RAW.

It was expected that Eric Bischoff would be arriving on SmackDown last week as well, but that did not happen.

Now, it appears as though we will not see the new man in charge of the blue brand until after Extreme Rules.

PWInsider reports that WWE is allowing Bischoff to take some time to relocate and get settled into a new home in Connecticut, so that he will be closer to WWE Corporate offices.

The delay is understandable, but his arrival can’t come soon enough. The July 1 episode of RAW was a marked improvement from prior efforts, while last week’s SmackDown was noticeably less good. Now, understanding that Bischoff still isn’t manning the controls for the show, the struggles can be explained.

It will be interesting to notice how things might change once he is up and running.
