Over the past few months, Meghan Markle has found herself embroiled in a series of public relations disasters that have negatively affected her popularity as a royal. Now, things have gotten so bad for her that Queen Elizabeth is reportedly stepping in to set her straight.

Daily Mail reported that sources say the Queen, who is said to be particularly fond of Meghan, is keen for the former American actress to “avoid any further PR blunders.” One royal expert said that when Meghan celebrates her 38th birthday at Balmoral Castle on August 4, the Queen is planning to pull her aside to have a “quiet word” with her in which she’ll advise her on how to avoid any further public embarrassments.

“This might be a good opportunity to have, not an assessment of her, but a quiet chat away from the madding crowds as to how she thinks it is going,” said royal expert Phil Dampier. “I think in quiet moments and quiet walks up by the river the Queen might have a few words of advice for her. I’m sure there must be things where she perhaps thinks things could be done better, so I’m sure she would give her some advice, especially if she asks for it.”

Dampier went on to say that the Queen, Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles are all “very fond” of Meghan, and “find her engaging and intelligent.”

Meghan’s Many Disasters

This comes after Meghan broke numerous royal rules in her first year of marriage to Prince Harry. Her public relations problems have included things like spending millions of tax dollars on an extravagant home renovation for herself, traveling to New York City to attend a star-studded baby shower thrown for her, and expressing her leftwing views publicly. If Meghan wants to retain any kind of popularity, she would do well to listen to the Queen’s advice when they talk next month.
