Backstage News On WWE's Upcoming RAW Reunion Show

-We got a fairly decent sized announcement over the weekend.

On the July 22nd RAW-that is, a week from today-we are getting treated to a massive RAW Reunion show.

One can only speculate, but there will be debate as to whether this was planned before the executive directors were a thing…or if this is happening because of new directors Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff.

That Bischoff is going to be one of the hyped names for the show leads me to believe this only came together recently, perhaps involving both directors driving the push for it.

WWE has already announced some big names for the show. As mentioned already, Eric Bischoff will be there. We have also been promised Razor Ramon, Kurt Angle, D-Von Dudley, The Boogeyman, Christian and Santino Marella.

Do not expect to see Jim Ross. The WWE Hall of Famer declined the invitation, even though All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan gave his blessing.

Another big name announced? Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter to start hyping the massive gathering of former WWE talents:

With Austin returning for the first time in what feels like forever, plus all the other names we’ve had revealed to us so far, it seems safe to say that a week from today, the red brand is going to be delivering a loaded show.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, they noted how the USA Network pitched the idea due to low ratings.

One big item to watch for: with SummerSlam just a few weeks away, could the RAW Reunion be used to set up a match or two to take place during the Biggest Party of the Summer? It seems like a very good bet.

In addition to that, fans will be wondering (and likely watching) what SmackDown will do to similarly woo fans to Tuesdays.
