Alexa Bliss’ Status For Extreme Rules

– Fans will note that Alexa Bliss was missing from both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE this week, and according to the Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, this is because of a terrible sinus infection she is suffering from. As of right now, she is still scheduled for her 2-on-1 Handicap Match at Extreme Rules for the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley.

Interestingly enough, Nikki Cross was added to the bout due to Bliss’ illness this week. According to Meltzer, Cross wasn’t originally planned for the match; however, Alexa’s current sinus infection changed those plans. While Bliss has yet to comment on being absent from WWE TV this week, she did post the below on Twitter this week.

On behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we wish Little Miss Bliss a speedy recovery! Here’s hoping nothing changes with her participation in this Sunday’s big Extreme Rules match.

– Here’s also hoping that Bliss will be nice and healthy for SummerSlam, only some weeks away at this point. While programs have yet to be rolled out for the event, the buzz is that there might be some changes to top SummerSlam plans moving forward, thanks to the hiring of Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman in their new Executive Directors roles. The Twitter handle Wrestle Votes recently reported that anything planned ahead of time for SummerSlam is “subject to change” once the men officially start their jobs as of next week, after Extreme Rules ends. This allows both Heyman and Bischoff to hit the ground running with “clean slates”.

While there is no information on what WWE has planned for their next Big Four pay-per-view, Wrestling Inc. has reported that one rumored bout could be Drew McIntyre versus The Undertaker, which makes sense consider The Phenom is participating in a tag team match this Sunday, where he’s teaming up with Roman Reigns to take on Drew and Shane McMahon.

This year’s SummerSlam takes place on Sunday August 11th at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.
