AEW’s Future Plans, Reason The Street Profits Don’t Wrestle On RAW

– All Elite Wrestling (AEW) promised they would have details about their TV deal before next month’s All Out and they delivered. Starting Wednesday October 2, AEW will on TNT from 8 PM until 10 PM EST. The first show comes from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they provided more details. AEW will be booking arenas that can hold between 6,000 to 11,000 people and the locations will be determined based on demand.

As for the number of shows per year, AEW is looking to run around 100 to 120. This would include four pay per views, 52 episodes for TV and the remainder going to live events. Saturdays are likely the day AEW would run their live events, but other days could be added if they sell out venues. Top talent, like Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley, would work about 75 shows per year. The idea is to keep match quality high without burning out their roster.

Also, there will be some matches taped before the show goes live. A major goal is to make sure each show delivers something special; unlike WWE live events, which typically sees the same matches played out several times per week.

– There are no plans for The Street Profits to wrestle on RAW, despite the NXT Tag Team Champions appearing on TV for over a month. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated their presence is being done to help advertise the NXT brand.

While Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford are not wrestling on the main roster, their backstage segments are getting over with fans and it will help when they officially join RAW or SmackDown. It also a way for WWE to test how fans react to the duo.

The Street Profits will defend their tag titles against Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish at the NXT Takeover Toronto II on August 10.
