UFC 238: Valentina Shevchenko Devastates Jessica Eye With Head Kick

Valentina Shevchenko was a massive favorite to defend her flyweight title tonight at UFC 238, and the champion demonstrated why.

Eye came out with a couple right hands, but Shevchenko countered with hard kicks to the body. Moments later, Shevchenko swept Eye to the floor. Shevchenko maintained top position for some time, working from half guard. Eventually, Eye worked her way up and out, but Shevchenko tripped her right back down. Shevchenko moved into the crucifix position and began working an Americana, but Eye rolled out right before the round ended.

Shevchenko fired in a vicious body kick moments into the round, and then she followed up with a vicious head kick that KO’d Eye instantly. What a brutal and impressive win by the flyweight champ.

Eye was out for quite a while, but thankfully, she finally came to and could be seen conversing with officials.
