Monday Night Raw (6/17/2019)

Monday Night Raw (6/17/2019): 8 pm EST

Show opens up and Elias strums a chord on his guitar. The crowd boos vehemently. Elias bashes the crowd and says he never would have come to such a toxic place, except Baron Corbin invited him. Elias removes his coat and reveals a referee’s shirt beneath. He says Corbin has invited him to be the special guest referee in his title match against Universal Champ Seth Rollins at Stomping Grounds. Rollins ends up blindsiding Elias with a steel chair and batters him mercilessly. Rollins states that anyone who sides with Corbin has the same thing coming to them.

Rollins leaves. But then The Miz comes out. Elias is still recovering in the ring and Miz ends up hitting him with a Skull-Crushing Finale. Then Bobby Lashley comes out and cuts Elias in half with a Spear.

Cesaro enters next, and he gives Elias a big swing before dropping him like a sack of potatoes.

Ricochet is next out. He nails Elias with a codebreaker.

Finally, Braun Strowman comes in and plants Elias with a Running Powerslam.

Then the five get ready for their match. The winner will face Samoa Joe for the United States Championship.

Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match: The Miz vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Cesaro vs. Ricochet vs. Braun Strowman

Strowman eliminates Cesaro with a Running Powerslam.

Strowman eliminates Bobby Lashley with a Powerslam.

Lashley and Cesaro end up coming back and interfering in the match. Lashley hits a Spear and Cesaro manages to deliver a Neutralizer. Ricochet then connects with a 630 for the 3-count. Strowman is eliminated.

Ricochet hits Miz with a 630 for the victory. He will face Samoa Joe on Sunday.

Winner: Ricochet

After the match, Joe, who had been sitting at ringside watching, runs in and attacks Ricochet. Ricochet fights back and is able to fend Joe off and send him tumbling out of the ring to the floor. Ricochet follows up with a big flip out onto him.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch cuts a promo and gets into a row with Lacey Evans.

Daniel Bryan comes out with Rowan to cut a promo ahead of his match against Rollins later tonight.

24/7 Champ R-Truth is seen with Carmella in the audience dressed up in costumes. A bunch of wrestlers run out and a melee ensues. Truth manages to escape.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn come out for en edition of The Sami & Kevin Show. Their guest tonight is Baron Corbin. Corbin is out there to reveal who the special referee in his match against Rollins will be. The referee for the Universal Championship match at Stomping Grounds will be… EC3. EC3 starts to make his entrance, wearing a referee’s shirt. As he steps out on the main stage, Rollins ambushes him and bashes him with a steel chair and leaves EC3 beaten and broken. Corbin says it’s “back to the drawing board” regarding a ref for the match.

Then New Day’s music hits. Zayn tries to tell them they need to leave but Kofi says he’s the WWE Champ and he goes where he wants, when he wants. As things get heated, a challenge for a match is issued. New Day does a “Weekend At Bernie’s” with EC3 and get him to “sanction” the match.

AJ Styles gives Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson the gears over phoning it in in WWE. He asks when they last won a match? When were they even on TV? Styles tells them to get serious. Gallows and Anderson look serious now, and they say they’ll show Styles in their match against The Usos tonight.

6-Man Tag Team Match (2-out-of-3 Falls): New Day vs. Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens

Corbin accidentally hits Zayn. Owens steps in in defense of his friend and he and Corbins start pushing each other. Owens ends up hitting Corbin with a superkick and then he and Zayn take their leave. Kofi hits Trouble In Paradise and gets the pinfall.

Winners: New Day

Money In The Bank winner Brock Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman comes out to the ring to cut a promo. He says he’s not comfortable out there with Seth Rollins bashing everyone with chairs. Heyman says that Rollins has a match tonight, so he’s going to be vulnerable. Maybe Brock Lesnar will make an appearance. Or maybe not… Who knows? Anything can happen, Heyman says.

Corbin tries to enlist Eric Young as his special referee but Rollins clobbers him with a chair like all the others.

Tag Team Match: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. The Usos

Despite Styles challenging to them to take things more seriously, Anderson ends up doing too much taunting and The Usos capitalize.

Winners: The Usos

Roman Reigns comes out and calls Shane McMahon out for a match. He tells Shane to come do it on his own without any help for once. Shane comes on the big screen and, firstly, gets Greg Hamilton to belt out a “Best in the world” for him. Shane then tells Reigns he shouldn’t feel ashamed for losing to the best in the world. Shane’s answer to Reigns’ challenge is negative. He says Reigns should be worrying about Drew McIntyre. McIntyre then cuts a promo. When McIntyre mentions Reigns’ children, Reigns starts storming to the back looking for him.

Reigns finds them in their VIP room and starts taking it to both Shane and McIntyre. Reigns puts McIntyre through a table and then chases Shane out of the room and out to the ring area. Reigns has Shane in the ring alone and nails him with a Superman Punch and then a Spear. The crowd cheers and claps and chants Roman’s name. Reigns says to tell McIntyre he’s coming for him.

Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: The IIconics (c) vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Raw Women’s Champ Bayley comes out to sit at ringside and play mind games with Bliss. During the match, Bliss and Bayley start getting into it and the IIconics capitalize on the split attention to retain their titles.

Winners: The IIconics (c)

Nikki Cross is not happy about Bayley’s part in preventing her from being a tag champ right now.

Bray Wyatt appears for another edition of Firefly Fun House.

Singles Match: Universal Champ Seth Rollins vs. Tag Champ Daniel Bryan

Rowan ends up attacking Rollins for a quick disqualification.

Winner: Seth Rollins (DQ)

After the bell, a bunch of guys including The Revival, The Usos, The New Day, Sami Zayn and others all run out and a brawl breaks out. Once some order is restored the match is announced to be restarting and everyone will be banned from ringside.

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Daniel Bryan

Rollins delivers a Stomp after a scramble and scores the 3-count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Corbin batters Rollins with a steel chair from behind. Corbin holds Rollins’ belt over his head as the show closes.
