Mass Shooting Survivor Blasts Madonna’s ‘God Control’ Video – ‘It’s Bringing up That Pain’

Pop singer Madonna’s latest video “God Control,” which is meant to be a play on “gun control” has just come back to bite her as a survivor of the Pulse Nightclub shooting has spoken out to slam her for it.

Fox News reported that the video opens with a warning to viewers of graphic content, and it proceeds to show a gunman storming a nightclub, opening fire, and killing many.

“This is your wake up call,” Madonna wrote on Twitter after the video’s release. “Gun violence disproportionately affects children, teenagers and the marginalized in our communities. Honor the victims and demand GUN CONTROL. NOW. Volunteer, stand up, donate, reach out.”

It didn’t take long for this push for gun control to blow up in Madonna’s face, as Pulse Nightclub survivor Patience Carter said that the video brought mass shooting survivors back to a dark place, calling the depiction “grossly accurate.”

“As a survivor of gun violence, it was really hard to watch,“ she said. “I understood what she was trying to do with bringing awareness to the topic of gun control, but I definitely felt that wasn’t the right way to go about doing it,” she explained. “Because, for someone like me who actually saw those images, who actually lived those images, to see them again dramatized for views, dramatized for YouTube, I feel like it was really insensitive.”

“You could not think about the person that was actually in those incidents, that actually lost someone, that actually had to experience that bloodshed firsthand,” she added. “Think about how they would feel reliving, because that’s what it is, reliving this all over again. And it’s bringing up that pain, all that healing, all that growth can crumble with one video.”

Madonna Profits From Gun Violence Depiction

This just goes to show that like many liberal celebrities, Madonna cares more about filling her own pockets than she does about gun control. She’s no better than the many leftwing actors and actresses who call for gun bans only to make millions from movies that glamorize gun violence. If Madonna really cared about gun control more than money, she never would have made a video that would trigger the shooting survivors she claims to be trying to help in this way.

Please be advised, the video below is very graphic.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
