Big NXT Name Pulled From Shows

All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) roster is still developing and they have a mix of known names and some wrestlers that are still being introduced to fans on a national level. Several people are responsible for being the first to join AEW and that includes veteran Christopher Daniels. Before AEW took off, Daniels was getting ready to retire from in-ring competition.

“When we pitched the idea, the original idea was that it might be my transition out of the ring,” said Daniels on Talk Is Jericho. “I thought, ‘I’ll be 49; that’s a good number to transition out of the ring.’ Now, I am 49 and I realize, ‘I don’t want to get out of the ring.’”

Daniels did not want to completely leave the wrestling business as he was looking to transition into a role as an authority figure. Now, it seems like Daniels, Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky will be sticking around for the foreseeable future as SCU.

– The most dominant stable in NXT history is likely the Undisputed Era, but one of their members is dealing with an injury. Kyle O’Reilly confirmed on Twitter that he has been pulled the upcoming Download Festival due to an injury to his back that is believed to happened from the ladder match at Takeover New York.

There are some big plans for O’Reilly for NXT Takeover Toronto and hopefully the injury heals itself before the show in August. There is always the possibility that if O’Reilly is unable to compete at the next Takeover event that one his stablemates can take his place. It would be similar to how Roderick Strong and Adam Cole helped fill the void when Bobby Fish had to miss months of action. With about 60 days until Takeover Toronto, time is on O’Reilly’s side.
