– One of the biggest stories last year was the rise of Becky Lynch, which culminated in her winning the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships in the main event of WrestleMania 35. As for next year’s big show from Florida, the original plan was Becky vs. Charlotte Flair. With the match now taking place at Money in the Bank, that idea seems out the window.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea is for Becky to be the top female star at WrestleMania 36. As for her match, that is still being worked out. There is always the Ronda Rousey factor, which could change plans. Rousey’s WWE future is unclear as she looks to start to a family.
As of right now Becky will defend both titles later this month at Money in the Bank. Lacey Evans challenges for the RAW title with Charlotte seeking SmackDown gold, so it will be a busy night for the double champion.
– The Superstar Shakeup saw stables split and that included Sanity. Eric Young was sent to RAW with Alexander Wolfe joining NXT UK. As for Killian Dain, he is apparently going back to NXT.
Sanity were former NXT Tag Team Champions before joining the main roster. Their time on SmackDown was uneventful, rarely appearing and losing a majority of their matches.
Even when it came to singles action, there seemed to be high hopes for Dain in NXT. He was part of a classic multi person ladder match to crown the first North American Champion and also found himself getting close to a NXT Championship shot before heading to the main roster. Dain did not work the recent NXT tapings, which filmed several weeks of TV a few days ago. That means Dain will not appear on TV until June, at the earliest.
In real life, Dain recently married RAW superstar Nikki Cross.
