Rumors Swirl That Meghan Has Been Banned from Wearing Royal Jewelry

New reports are coming in stating that Queen Elizabeth has “banned” Meghan Markle from wearing various priceless pieces of jewelry from her royal collection, much to Prince Harry’s dismay. Though the royal family has denied that a ban is in place, other sources are saying that the Queen has indeed said that Meghan can’t wear certain pieces from her collection.

“It is true that Buckingham Palace did not want all the items in the Royal Collection to be opened up to Meghan at this time,” a royal source said, according to Daily Mail. “Obviously, Kate as the next Princess of Wales and a senior member of the family does have them made available to her. That’s not to say items won’t be loaned to Meghan in the future if situations change.”

This move was reportedly made after the Queen was left “unimpressed by Meghan’s demanding behavior” just before her marriage to Harry last year. Before the ceremony, Meghan reportedly demanded that she be allowed to wear an emerald encrusted headpiece, but her request was refused when the origin of the piece could not be established. Harry was infuriated that this request was denied, saying, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”

The Queen allegedly did not like Harry’s comment.

“There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry,” a source explained. “She said: ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me.'”

Meghan ended up wearing Queen Mary’s diamond and platinum bandeau tiara from the Queen’s private collection during her wedding.

A source with Buckingham Palace has since spoken out to deny that Meghan has been “banned” from wearing the Queen’s jewelry.

“It is worth noting that the Queen lent Meghan a tiara for the wedding, gave her earrings for her first royal engagement, and had just agreed to partly fund her new household,” the source said. “The jewelry in question is only usually worn at extremely special functions or state occasions and there simply haven’t been many of those since Meghan became a member of the Royal Family.”

Whatever the truth of this situation is, it’s clear that there is quite a lot of drama surrounding Meghan in the royal family. Hopefully, if any kind of ban is in place, Meghan will be respectful of the Queen’s wishes until she changes her mind.
