The Duggar family has grown yet again! Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo announced that their adorable daughter was born on Thursday and both baby and mom are doing well. Her name has a special meaning that has many Duggar fans wondering if they are starting a theme for future Vuolo baby names.
The new mom made the announcement on Instagram after giving birth at 4:37 am on July 19th, just one day before her due date. At 8lbs, 3oz. and 19.5 inches, Felicity is the lightest baby born to a Duggar daughter and is the 12th GrandDuggar.
The couple named their first child Felicity Nicole Vuolo. She shares a middle name with Jinger, but her first name has a special meaning. Felicity means “good fortune, happy” in Latin and is also a virtue name. If Jinger and Jeremy decide to have a virtue name theme, their future daughters may sport names such as Grace, Charity, Hope, Faith, Mercy.
“Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great, and resting well,” Jeremy said. “We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!”
The proud father also shared the exciting news with his Instagram followers.
The Vuolos did not announce if Felicity was born in a hospital. The Duggars traditionally have home births but Joe and Kendra broke with tradition, having their son Garrett delivered in a hospital last month. Jinger is the rebellious daughter who even wears pants so it’s possible that she went against the grain and had always planned on giving birth in the hospital.
In their first picture with Felicity, the newborn is seen wearing what appears to be a hospital band but one is not visible on Jinger’s wrist. Perhaps that is because it is on the arm that is holding the baby. Click here to see a picture of Felicity on Jeremy and Jinger’s website.
