An immigrant from West Africa, who is a supporter of President Donald Trump, was brutally assaulted last week by two men in Maryland for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Fox News reported that Atsu Nable said that he was in Germantown wearing a MAGA hat last Saturday when two men approached him and expressed anger that he was wearing it. One of the men then struck Nable from behind, which sent him into a state of shock.

“I was like, ‘Why are you doing this?’” Nable recounted. “They said, ‘No, the hat,’ and they started punching me on my head.”

Nable tried to tell his attackers that he was wearing the hat because “he was entitled to his own views,” but they continued to assault him.

“The victim continued to be struck by the suspects until he fell to the ground,” police said in a statement. “The suspects then removed property from the victim, and destroyed items of value.”

Nable explained that he became a naturalized U.S. citizen after emigrating from Togo in West Africa in 2007, and that he is a proud supporter of President Trump. He has attended many of Trump’s campaign events and even served as a volunteer at his inauguration.

Jovan Crawford, 27, of Germantown, and Scott Duncan Roberson, 25, of Washington D.C., have since been arrested and charged with assault as well as attempted theft and conspiracy.

Attacks on Trump supporters such as this one are unfortunately all too common in the United States, but you shouldn’t expect to hear much about what happened to Nable from the mainstream media. The left wing press ignores the frequent assaults on Trump supporters because they do not fit their narrative of conservatives being violent, deranged lunatics who pose a threat to liberals. In reality, we’ve seen that it is leftists who often become violent towards people who support President Trump.

It’s sad that Americans can’t feel safe these days wearing an article of clothing that supports the sitting president.
