WWE Tag Team Rumored To Be Leaving, International Star Retiring

– There are reports that “The Good Brothers” Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson will leave WWE later this year. According to PWInsider, WWE has offered the tag team multi-million dollar contracts but they turned them down.

When WWE signed the two from New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), they joined the promotion with lots of hype. Their biggest push came when paired with AJ Styles and their brief run as RAW Tag Team Champions. Due to the lack of a push, there had been speculation for the past year they would leave in September 2019.

While returning to NJPW is an option, the more logical choice seems to be All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Gallows & Anderson know several of the top names in AEW and they would have not have to move back to Japan. There is also the possibility that a deal could be reached which sees the team sign with AEW and also work NJPW.

Despite WWE trying to bring more life back into the tag team division, Gallows & Anderson have not appeared too often on TV. They lost to The Usos back in December and then to Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura on the February 5 edition of SmackDown.

AEW will produce their first show in a few months and have already caused a buzz. This has made WWE try to sign their current talent to longer contracts for a larger amount of money.

– During a press conference, Jushin Thunder Liger reveled that he is retiring from pro wrestling at the Tokyo Dome in January 2020. The 54 year old is an international star that has competed in companies such as WWE, NXT, Impact Wrestling and WCW.

Liger started the press conference stating: “Thank you for joining me here. I will retire next year in January at the Tokyo Dome.”

He also noted that he hopes to compete during the G1 Supercard event next month at Madison Square Garden. No word on who his final opponent will be in 10 months.
