In the months since Meghan Markle officially joined the British royal family, her father and half sister have caused numerous problems for her by repeatedly bashing her in the press. That’s why it has come as a surprise that sources are saying Meghan is planning on “extending an olive branch” to her Markle family members after the birth of her first child next month.

Daily Mail reported that though Meghan has been left devastated by what her father and half-sister, Thomas and Samantha Markle, have done to her, she still would like to bury the hatchet with them.

“Meghan understands the pressures of intense media scrutiny and she is saddened by what her family have had to endure,” a source said. “She plans to extend an olive branch to the family and invite them to visit after the baby is born – her sister [Samantha Markle] included. Meghan hopes and prays that the baby will bring her family back together.”

The source went on to say that Meghan has been confused by her family constantly demanding that she spend more time with them since she has always been busy in the past and they have never had a problem with it before.

“Meghan’s family is well aware that she has always been busy and have always supported her efforts in the past, despite it leaving her little time to spend with them,” the source said. “Her royal duties have kept her incredibly busy and she takes her new responsibilities very seriously.”

This comes after Samantha has given repeated interviews to the press bashing Meghan, going so far as to write a memoir full of attacks on her that she plans to release around the time her sister gives birth. It says a lot about Meghan’s character that she is willing to put all of this aside just to make peace with her family. We can only hope that Thomas and Samantha take this seriously and start treating Meghan with the love and respect that she deserves.
