Last week, we reported that Meghan Markle had sent a heart-wrenching letter to her father begging him to stop talking to the press about her. Now, new reports are saying that Meghan is “devastated” and “at her wit’s end” over the fact that her father chose to leak this letter to the press.
Fox News reported that Thomas Markle said he planned to keep the letter “totally private out of respect for her” until her friends “launched their attack” on him last week when they opened up about the rift between him and his daughter. Sources say that Meghan now plans to not respond to news about the letter’s release because “it could escalate an already difficult situation.”
“She cares for her dad, and has concerns for him and his mental health, which is one of the reasons she doesn’t want to comment on this,” the insider said. “It’s a very complex, very emotional situation, and let’s not forget she is seven months pregnant.”
Samantha Markle challenges Meghan to lie detector test
Meanwhile, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha has continued to bash the royal as if it’s her job. Page Six reported that Samantha took issue with an excerpt from the letter in which Meghan wrote to their father, “You fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know. You watched me silently suffer at the hand of her vicious lies. I crumbled inside.”
Samantha, however, claimed that Meghan was lying when she said she barely knew her.
“She says she doesn’t know me and she lied and said she was never close to my dad … if pointing out that what she says are all lies breaks your heart, too bad because what I’m saying is the truth,” Samantha said. “I would challenge her to take a lie detector test anywhere on the planet with investigators that are not paid by her to skew the results. Quite frankly I had faith in her on and off to do the right thing by her dad but I’m sick of the bulls–t.”
At this point, this entire situation with the Markle family has gotten far more messy and heartbreaking than any of us could have imagined. It’s sickening to see a family behave this way and continually throw one of their own under the bus just to obtain fame and fortune for themselves. It’s even more disturbing that Thomas and Samantha do not seem to care at all that they are causing undue stress to their daughter and half-sister when she is coming to the final weeks of her pregnancy.
If the Markles ever had any love for Meghan, it is time for them to leave her alone, at least until she delivers her baby. The entire world would appreciate them showing just a little bit of class at this time, but given how they have behaved so far, I won’t be holding my breath for that to happen.
