WrestleNewz brings you live play-by-play coverage, results and viewing party for tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view broadcast. Kick-off starts at 6 PM EST and the main show begins at 8 PM EST on WWE Network. Be sure to tweet and follow @wrestlenewz on Twitter.
The main attraction is a pair of Chamber matches with the first ever Women’s Tag Team Championship and WWE Championship being decided. Other titles being decided are the RAW’s Women’s Championship, Intercontinental Championship, SmackDown Tag Team Championships and Cruierweight Championship. The Road to WrestleMania 35 is in full swing and tonight will help pave the direction.
The pre-show begins with the 205 Live brand doing their thing. Plenty of high flying moves, with Buddy Murphy relying on the size advantage. Tozawa takes some tough bumps on the outside, with the spot of the match being seeing massive hurricanrana off the turnbuckle that lands for the challenger. Murphy’s Law is enough for the title to stay put.
Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville will start the match with Sasha Banks & Bayley. Next out are Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan. Banks gets her arm slammed into a pod and Bayley appears to be doing this solo. Doomsday suplex off the turnbuckle, with Bayley taking the worst of the bump. The IIconics enter and try to sneak in several pins. Carmella & Naomi are now out of their pod as the crowd chants “Corey Graves.” Everybody hits some spots and all 10 women are down. The IIconics use a double pin to get rid of Naomi. Nia Jax & Tamina enter and starting tossing everyone. The IIconics hide in a pod, but Nia & Tamina pull them out and nail double Samoan drops and they’re gone. Liv and Logan climb atop a pod and jump off. Back in the ring, Tamina gets a splash off the top rope and pins both Liv & Logan. Nia charges at Bayley, who slides out of the way and Nia crashes through a pod. All four women work to pin Tamina and we are down to the final pair of teams. Banks with a modified version of her submission on Deville to get the victory and claim the gold.
Banks & Bayley are crying as they are interviewed after the match. Crowd chants “you deserve it.” Beth Phoenix is crying at the announce table.
The Miz is out and Maryse follows. She announces that she’s pregnant to a good pop as The Miz dedicates the match to his unborn child. Shane McMahon gets the hot tag and does coast to coast on Jimmy Uso. He goes for another, but Jey Uso hits a super kick. The Miz lays Jey on the announce table and Shane comes off the to rope with the elbow. Skull crushing finale on Jimmy, but he’s still sneaks in a pin to regain the titles.
The Miz helps Shane to his feet and they head to the back.
