Nia Jax Injures Another Superstar

– This week’s SmackDown had a different feeling backstage after reports surfaced that Dean Ambrose would no be renewing his contract and leaving WWE in April. PWInsider noted how this caused WWE to speak with several superstars before SmackDown in hopes they would re-sign with the promotion for longer deals.

As All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) buzz continues, WWE now wants their talent to sign five year contracts; similar to the deals The Miz and Kevin Owens recently signed. The report counted that the WWE roster was amazed as the company gave their best pitch for wrestlers to not jump ship.

Ambrose is not the only person unhappy with WWE. Over the past 30 days, Mike & Maria Kanellis and The Revival requested their release. WWE has not granted any releases at this time.

It is quite astounding what AEW has already accomplished. They have yet to produce a show, but have signed major names like Chris Jericho & Neville to mega deals and certainly have grabbed the attention of wrestling fans. We will have to see how AEW does once they start cranking out shows. If they are successful and make money, AEW could give WWE a run for their money not seen since WCW in late 1990s.

– At the Royal Rumble, Nia Jax got involved in the the main event and took out R-Truth to be the 30th entrant. Jerry Lawler stated on his podcast that Nia legitimately hurt the ankle and face of R-Truth when she tossed him into the set. R-Truth was said to be livid after the spot and management had to calm him down.

Nia has revived a decent amount of criticism since she broke the nose and gave Becky Lynch a concussion less than a week before Survivor Series. Several talent have claimed that Nia is unsafe inside the ring, so the latest incident with R-Truth does not help her case.
