The Markle family has just spoken out to slam Hollywood star George Clooney for defending Meghan Markle from their attacks.

“They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” Clooney said earlier this week, according to Fox News. “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that [Princess] Diana was and it’s history repeating itself. We’ve seen how that ends.”

“I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter to her father, she’s getting a raw deal there and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that,” he added, referring to the letter Meghan wrote to her father Thomas asking him to stop talking to the press about her. He responded by releasing the letter to the media.

Samantha Markle blasts George Clooney

Two days later, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha took to Twitter to blast Clooney for his criticisms of her family.

“Hey Looney Clooney! Your lawyer wife should have taught you not to make statements without full facts,” Samantha wrote. “I doubt #GeorgeClooney would ghost his mother for no legitimate reason. Be quiet Georgie.”

Sources close to Meghan’s father Thomas also expressed anger at Clooney, saying that he should “do a little research before he talks about Meghan and her father.”

Regardless of whether or not Clooney should be criticizing the Markle family, he is right in saying that Meghan is seven months pregnant and does not need or deserve this kind of stress right now. It’s sad that the Markle family clearly does not have enough compassion for Meghan to back off and give her enough space to give birth to her child in peace. Both Thomas and Samantha have shown that they have no interest in having an actual relationship with Meghan, and instead only want to profit off of her financially. While I do not agree with Clooney on most topics, he certainly seems to be in the right on this one.
