Dear WWE Creative, Anyone Care About Elimination Chamber?

Dear WWE Creative,

With a title like that, one would think this is a rant letter.

I assure you, it’s not.

To be quite frank, I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about wrestling. The Wrestlemania storyline unraveling between “The Man” Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, sprinkled in with some McMahon drama, and of course, Charlotte Flair, has been a riveting watch; Seth Rollins’ 2019 Royal Rumble winner heading to face Brock Lesnar has seen some great promos; Dean Ambrose leaving; the NEW Daniel Bryan is a wickedly amazing heel, and causing chaos on SmackDown LIVE; and Kofi Kingston gave one the greatest performances I’ve seen in a very long time this past Tuesday night during the Gauntlet Match that dominated in the blue show is such an amazing way.

In fact, I’ve been so preoccupied with Wrestlemania thoughts that I almost forgot you had a pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday, and it’s a tweet from Ruby Riott that reminded me.

Since their match was announced on Twitter, and there’s been zero build up to this program, if you can even call it a program, I get how Riott may be a tad bitter. Becky has been pulling double-duty on both RAW and SmackDown LIVE for some weeks now, and everyone is fascinated by this story right now that Elimination Chamber has become an afterthought of sorts.

Yes, I’m excited about the new Women’s Tag Team Champions being crowned; the outcome of the men’s Elimination Chamber match seems iffy at this point; and it would be grand to see Finn Balor crowned as Intercontinental Champion; however, I think the fans have been so focused Wrestlemania, The Man, The McMahons, The Authority, and Flair that the idea this PPV could change the face of WM 35, to some extent, has been forgotten.

And this isn’t a bad thing. If we weren’t being entertained at this point in time, I may rant on about the fact that Asuka hasn’t be on television for a while and not spotlighted on this PPV (although, I do get as many SD LIVE women as possible were needed for this Elimination Chamber tag titles match); I could also write about no RAW tag titles match; I could go on and on about Brock Lesnar not bothering to show up.

Yes, maybe many of us don’t care about Elimination Chamber. Perhaps we’ll tune in, or just grab the update on WNZ some hours later. The point is, for the first time in a long time, RAW and SmackDown has the WWE Universe interested, and one minor PPV along the way that lacks a little hype as we all have our eyes on the Grandest Stage of Them All, isn’t the end of the world in the bigger picture.

Besides, I have a feeling you all have some surprises up your sleeves, come Sunday that just may change the Wrestlemania 35 game.
