Colin Kapernick attorney Adam Levine

Colin Kaepernick has just spoken out through his attorney to slam Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine for refusing to send a race-baiting political message with his Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday night.

Prior to last night’s Super Bowl, liberals had been calling on Levine to either drop out of the halftime performance or take a knee in solidarity with Kaepernick, who has not been signed by another team since leaving the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. Levine refused to do either, instead choosing to make his performance apolitical so that the entire country could enjoy it together. This left Kaepernick enraged, and he chose to respond through his lawyer, Mark Geragos.

“If you’re going to cross this ideological or intellectual picket line, then own it, and Adam Levine certainly isn’t owning it,” Geragos said, according to Fox News. “It’s a cop-out when you start talking about, ‘I’m not a politician; I’m just doing the music.’ Most of the musicians who have any kind of consciousness whatsoever understand what’s going on here.”

“Colin took a knee in a very deferential way to express what he sees as systemic oppression and racism in America,” the lawyer continued. “He has been blackballed because of that.”

Kaepernick ignores real reason he was blacklisted

Anyone who follows football at all knows that the claim that Kaepernick was blacklisted from football because of his kneeling is completely false. Instead, Kaepernick has been unable to find another team because he was a terrible quarterback who led his team to a losing record in 2017, the same year he made headlines with his distracting race-baiting antics.

It’s sad that liberals have now made it controversial to give a Super Bowl performance that is apolitical and all about unity. Levine’s Super Bowl performance was something that the entire country could enjoy, regardless of all of our political affiliations. This is exactly what a Super Bowl halftime performance should be all about, rather than being used as a tool to send some crazy liberal political message.
