New SmackDown Team Formed? + Paige Reflects On Her Career

– With the announcement of Women Tag Team Championships finally being introduced, that means some current superstars should be getting paired together. It appears that Naomi and Lana will be one of those duos as they have worked some live events together.

Naomi has been looking for help on TV as she battles Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville on SmackDown. The following was posted on Twitter by Lana, hinting at a run as a tag team under the name Ravishing Glow.

There are still no details about how or when the first champions will be decided, but we should learn more in the coming weeks.

– Two days ago, December 27,  marked the one year anniversary of Paige’s in-ring wrestling career ending due to her neck being injured beyond repair. At a live event, Paige teamed with fellow Absolution members Mandy Rose & Sonya Deveille against Mickie James, Sasha Banks & Bayley.

During the match, Banks kicked Paige and she fell to the canvas before being tended to by officials and medical personnel as seen below.  The move was not Banks’ fault and simply one of the dangers of the pro wrestling business. Eventually, Paige was helped to the back with assistance from officials. She would later retire the day after WrestleMania 35. She was the SmackDown General Manager up until a few weeks ago as WWE looks for a ‘fresh start’ and is currently without a role in WWE.

At the time, Paige had only returned to the ring for about a month. She missed around 18 months of action due to requiring neck and back surgery. Also during that time, she was in a toxic relationship with Alberto Del Rio. The two were shortly engaged, but they ended up making news headlines for all the wrong reasons. While away the former couple consistently fought and police were called, Paige failed two Wellness Policy tests and private videos of the former Divas Champion were leaked online.

Despite everything, WWE had Paige return and the fans were still invested in her. One of the main reasons for Paige’s return was to prepare for the upcoming film “Fighting With My Family,” which is about her family and features The Rock. After everything that has happened, Paige reflected on the past 12 months.
