MMA Fighter Challenges WWE Champ + Rhodes-Elite News?

-With athletes using social media more and more every day, it’s not unusual to see wrestlers talking smack on Twitter, or even issuing challenges.

Recently,a Bellator MMA fighter by the name of Aaron Chalmers became the latest to use social media to make a challenge. While plenty have taken shots at Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, this shot was for Daniel Bryan.

Chalmers is due to make is United States mixed martial arts fighting debut next year, and he’s apparently already itching for other challenges. His twitter post is here:

While some challenges have more weight to them, this one seems to be entirely for show. Chalmers has a high number of followers on Twitter, and he has a reputation for stirring things up to get his name out there. In that case, he succeeded.

-Over the last few months, there has been a ton of speculation regarding Cody Rhodes and what his 2019 plans are.

His Ring of Honor contract is expiring, and basically no one expects him to return or re-sign. He pulled off a very successful ALL IN special in 2018, and there have been mixed signals about whether a second event could be in the cards.

Now, there are even more rumblings that Rhodes might be taking a page out of a Jeff Jarrett playbook and finding him a rich benefactor to bankroll an Elite wrestling promotion.

These rumors only grew in strength over the weekend, as Cody and his wife were seen in the owners box of the Jacksonville Jaguars during Sunday’s NFL game. Rumors link Rhodes to Shad Khan, the wealthy owner of the Jaguars. It is possible that Khan would be interested in funding a new wrestling promotion, and having Cody at the game and in the owner’s box won’t do anything except stoke those rumors even more.
