Magician Does Tricks for Shelter Dogs and Their Reactions Are Priceless

Everyone loves a good magic show. That goes for dogs, too! At the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in New York recently, the dogs received a special visit from magician John Stessel. Wearing a Santa hat, John entertained the pooches with his tricks, each dog reacting very differently, but all of them cute.

Some were confused. One seemed shocked. One puppy even tried to pull off John’s Santa hat.

One little guy named Teragon rolled around on the floor and grinned.

The shelter hopes this video will help show the unique temperaments of the dogs so they can possibly find a home.

The video states, “To help get our animal shelter dogs adopted, TBS brought them the magic of the holidays, to show you how full of life they are. All these dogs are available for adoption at Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.”

Shot by the TBS Network, the video has been viewed over one million times as of this writing. Magician John Stessel told The Dodo, “I’ve always loved the idea of doing magic with dogs. Performing for them was nothing short of incredible.”

“The reaction from the dogs was just amazing. They were just so cute. It was really special,” he continued. “They just wanted to be loved. Each one of them would be perfect to find their own forever home.”

And by the way, the trick John does where the dog treat “disappears?” Don’t worry, these dogs got plenty of treats once the video ended.

Hopefully, this video will help these little guys find new forever homes. They’re so cute it’s hard to imagine that some of them, and hopefully all of them, won’t soon find a new home.
